Salthouse Harbour Hotel Branding Named Finalist at Food in Space Awards 2026

We’re delighted to announce that Faber and Company’s hospitality brand design for Salthouse Harbour Hotel in Ipswich, Suffolk, has been named a finalist at the Food in Space Awards 2026.

The recognition celebrates our approach to hospitality branding, where visual identity, interior design and the physical environment are developed together to create a distinctive and cohesive brand experience.

A Hotel Brand Identity Inspired by Art

For Salthouse Harbour Hotel, the creative direction began with something more personal than its waterfront location: the owners’ longstanding passion for collecting art.

This became the foundation for a concept centred around ‘space as art’, shaping a new hotel brand identity that extends across the restaurant, bar and wider hospitality offering.

At the heart of the branding is a sculptural ‘S’ marque, developed as part of a flexible visual identity system. The graphic language takes inspiration from artistic expression, with different applications allowing each area of the hotel to establish its own character while remaining connected to the wider Salthouse brand.

From typography and graphic design to branded materials and guest touchpoints, each element was considered as part of a unified identity.

Where Hospitality Branding Meets Interior Design

Rather than approaching brand identity and interior design as separate disciplines, Faber and Company developed both simultaneously.

The transformation included a new 30-cover destination bar, a reconfigured restaurant and bespoke design features, including the NaCl light installation, inspired by the molecular structure of salt.

This integrated approach allows the brand to extend beyond traditional graphic applications, influencing the atmosphere, materials and details that define the guest experience.

For Faber and Company, effective restaurant and hotel branding is about more than creating a recognisable visual identity. It is about establishing a meaningful creative direction that can inform every aspect of a hospitality business.
