FAQs

What kind of design services do you offer?

We specialise in restaurant and hospitality design — from concept to completion. That includes interior design, branding, customer journey mapping, and full project coordination. We also offer feasibility studies and strategic advice to help clients shape their business from the ground up.

Do you only design restaurants?

Restaurants are our core focus, but we also work on bars, cafés, hotel F&B spaces, and F&B spaces within commercial or public buildings. Our sister studio, Studio by Faber, handles residential and non-hospitality interiors.

Can you manage the build as well as the design?

Yes. While we’re designers first, we often manage the build phase through either our own contracts team or via trusted subcontractors — especially when we’ve been involved from early concept. We can act as a design-and-build partner, or work alongside your chosen contractor.

How much does a restaurant design project cost?

Our design fees are usually calculated as a percentage of your overall project budget — much like architects or other professionals in the built environment. That means the cost is proportionate to the scope, complexity, and ambition of your project. We work best when brought in early, as we can help shape the brief to maximise both creative and commercial value.

If you're budgeting for a new opening or refurbishment, we’re happy to talk through early-stage numbers — no strings attached. Feel free to get in touch to discuss your requirements >

How long does a typical project take?

Timelines vary, but a typical restaurant project takes around 6–12 months from briefing to opening. We always tailor the schedule to your needs — and we’re used to working to tight deadlines when required.

Do you work with clients outside of the UK?

We do. While most of our projects are UK-based, we’ve worked internationally and are always open to the right opportunity. We’re happy to work remotely or travel when needed.

Can you help if I’m still developing my idea?

Absolutely. Many of our best projects started with a loose idea or early-stage business plan. We offer strategic input, feasibility studies, and early concept development to help shape your thinking.

What makes Faber different from other design studios?

We combine creativity with deep knowledge of how things are made, which includes having our own workshop where we manufacture custom-made pieces for our projects.. We’re not just about visuals — we design with buildability, cost, and emotional impact in mind. Our work sits at the intersection of creativity and craft.

How do I get started?

Just get in touch. Whether you’ve got a clear brief or a rough idea, we’re happy to talk. You can email us at studio@faber.design or fill out the contact form here.
