Interior Designer Magazine Features Faber's Art-Led Transformation of Salthouse Harbour Hotel
We're delighted to see Salthouse Harbour Hotel featured by Interior Designer Magazine, showcasing the creative thinking behind our redesign of the hotel's bar, brasserie and visual identity.
The article explores how the project challenged the conventional approach to hospitality design. Rather than taking inspiration from the hotel's waterfront location, the concept was developed around the owners' passion for collecting contemporary art, creating interiors that become part of the artistic conversation rather than simply displaying artwork.
Working closely with Gough Hotels, we transformed the former lobby into a destination bar, reimagined the restaurant as a vibrant British brasserie and developed a new brand identity that connects every stage of the guest experience. The result is a hospitality environment where branding, interiors and bespoke artwork work together as one cohesive story.
A defining feature of the project is NaCl, our sculptural lighting installation inspired by the molecular structure of salt. Suspended above the dining room, the installation reflects Suffolk's heritage while expressing the wider creative narrative that runs throughout the project.
The feature also highlights our belief that hospitality interiors should do more than respond to their location. By looking beyond the obvious and embracing creativity as the driving force, the redesign creates spaces that feel distinctive, memorable and commercially effective.
We're grateful to Interior Designer Magazine for recognising the project and sharing the story behind the design.
