Meet and Greet at The American Bar, The Savoy, London
The Challenge
To enhance the arrival experience at The American Bar, The Savoy required a discreet yet highly functional meet-and-greet solution — including a dedicated cloakroom facility. Previously, guests were required to use the main hotel cloakroom, disrupting the flow of arrival. With space at a premium, the intervention needed to be spatially efficient while integrating seamlessly with the bar’s existing maple and walnut–clad interiors. Above all, it had to feel as though it had always belonged.
The Solution
A bespoke host podium was introduced to create a clear and intuitive meet-and-greet point, while also accommodating menu storage, tablets, and integrated charging. Alongside this, a custom cloak cupboard was carefully designed to sit within the existing wall line, matching the maple and walnut veneer panels precisely. Decorative cut and bevelled mirror panels to the doors elevate the piece, creating a refined feature that also enhances the sense of space within the narrow walkway.
The result is a quietly confident intervention — highly functional, meticulously crafted, and seamlessly woven into the fabric of The American Bar, with a level of detail befitting its setting.
