Sketchbook: Caffé Concerto. Westfield, London
Welcome to Sketchbook — a space where we share the latest ideas and culinary experiences emerging from the Faber studio.
This time, we’re delighted to offer a glimpse into our work for London-based restaurant brand, Caffé Concerto — an operator we’ve long admired. So when we were asked to help redefine the future of this much-loved European café concept, we jumped at the chance.
Our brief began with the brand itself: to establish a clear set of design principles that could guide future spaces, starting with the redesign of their flagship at Westfield Village, West London. Through this process, we identified three core pillars — Elegant, Timeless, and Dramatic — capturing the essence of the experience. The resulting design language draws from what we’ve termed Art Deco Moderne — a refined evolution of late Art Deco (1930–1940), where flowing, sculptural forms meet a simpler, more geometric aesthetic.
The outcome is a design language that flexes seamlessly across different formats — from classic cafés to the more elevated Grand Cafés — while staying unmistakably Caffé Concerto.
