Team UK celebrates success at the Bocuse d’Or regional heats in Budapest

As part of our ongoing involvement as designers with team UK for the Bocuse d’Or, Creative Director of Faber, Tony Matters, was in Budapest with the UK team competing in the regional heat. Taking place within the Sirha Budapest event, the European heat saw 17 countries go head-to-head for the chance to compete at the world final in Lyon in January 2023.

The UK team, comprising chef Ian Musgrave and commis Adam Beaumont, both of The Ritz, were supported by coach Tom Phillips (Restaurant Story) and president Simon Rogan (L’Enclume, Aulis and Roganic) had a fantastic competition, achieving a win for best plated dish and securing our place in the world final in Lyon in 2023.

Tony Matters, Creative Director of Faber, says:

“We’re so proud to play our part in what is the world’s largest and most prestigious culinary competition. With design playing an ever increasing role in the Bocuse d’Or, our work designing the platter continues to challenge us as we aim to push the boundaries of design for food.”

Faber are part of the Creative Group for the Bocuse d’Or UK Academy, which includes renowned food photographer Jodi Hinds and leading graphic designers Gunter Piekarski.
