Behind the Scenes at Faber: Meet Jennifer

At Faber, we’re pretty good at sharing the amazing work we do through our portfolio pages. But we thought it was high time we allowed you a peek at our inner workings to take a look at the team responsible for making the magic happen…Here we find out who everyone is and what they do at Faber, but perhaps more importantly we’ve thrown in ten quickfire questions to discover what really makes them tick!

Jennifer is our junior design placement student from Nottingham Trent University! She studies Interior Architecture & Design and will go back to complete her final year in September.

She currently lives with her partner in Birmingham and loves the environment at Faber’s Digbeth office, enjoying the fact that she’s able to bounce ideas around (as well as the banter!). And as the youngest member of our team, Jennifer values the encouragement that new projects give her in terms of building skills and confidence.

When she’s not in the office, Jennifer appreciates spending time with her family. And her love of design is evident by the fact that she can often be found in Birmingham’s many shops discovering decor for her flat. She also has her eye on the future and enjoys creating Pinterest boards for her dream home!

‍How would you describe yourself in three words?

Bubbly, friendly, reliable.

What’s your greatest achievement?

‍Probably working my way to where I am now…It's been a heck of a journey and (not to toot my own horn) I'm extremely proud of myself!

What made you want to become an interior designer?

I feel like everyone's design spark was ignited by The Sims…From the age of twelve, I was attempting to redesign my family home in it! It's always brought me joy to be creative and see the new potential in existing spaces; interior design allows me to do what I love on the daily!

‍What’s your favourite Faber project?

Now that's a hard one! As much as I love Finch, I’m going to have to go with The George Hotel because…WOW! The concept creation, materials, and intricate details—it’s such a seamless design that everything just marries together.

‍What’s your feel-good song?

Ooh, that’s so hard to choose…I’m gonna say New Radicals’ You Get What You Give—memories and vibes in one!

‍If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?

Lake Como…need I say more?

‍How would you describe your perfect weekend?

Walking around the Peak District in search of hidden gems and finding the best spots to take in those picturesque views…

‍What are you most afraid of?

‍Big presentation talks! But you can't progress without a little fear…Oh and spiders big enough to cast shadows!

‍Pet hates?

Loud chewers, slow walkers, and when Associate Mark heats his fish pie in the office microwave!

‍What three items could you not live without?

My family, my partner, and my glasses (I honestly can't see without them)!
