The Challenge

Faber was commissioned to create a new fine dining destination within The Grand, York’s only five-star hotel. The concept—Legacy—was inspired by the visionary individuals who built both the hotel and the railway it once served, originally the headquarters of the Northern Railway Company. The interior design scheme brings this story to life, weaving historical narrative into every detail of the space.

The Solution

At the heart of the design is a cluster of bespoke pendant lights, blending industrial elegance with refined craftsmanship. Antique brass suspension arms lend a sense of engineered sophistication, while period-style glass shades cast a warm, ambient glow—creating a lighting feature that both illuminates and elevates the space.
