The Challenge

Sapori is a fine-dining restaurant led by Napoli-born chef Andrea Scarpati. As part of a wider redesign, the brief was to transform the space—formerly a working men’s club—into something refined and atmospheric, all within a limited budget.

A bespoke illuminated ceiling feature was envisioned to serve as a dramatic focal point, but it needed to deliver strong visual impact while remaining simple and cost-effective to execute.

The Solution

The final design features 2,000 gold discs, each suspended by fine jewellery wire from a discreet mesh framework above. Interspersed among the discs are exposed filament bulbs, casting a warm, ambient glow that enhances the intimacy of the space.

The existing commercial grid ceiling above was painted matte black, allowing the sculptural light feature to take centre stage—transforming a practical ceiling into a striking, floating installation.
