Parasol Light, The Rosarium

The Challenge

Situated in The Terrace—part of The Rosarium, a Faber-designed restaurant in Waterloo—the space is designed to evoke the feeling of an English country garden. However, the central tables risked feeling a little lost within the open layout. A lighting feature was needed to anchor each table and reinforce a sense of place.

The Solution

Above each table, a parasol-inspired light was introduced—featuring an open parasol frame, minus the fabric, to preserve the airiness of the space. At the centre of each structure hangs an illuminated glass globe, casting a soft, ambient glow. A band of fringing adds character to the frame, subtly nodding to traditional garden parasols. Each unit is powered via a ceiling-hung flex, allowing the tables to be repositioned with ease. These unique fittings provide both functional lighting and visual identity, helping to define each table within the garden-like setting.
