At Faber, we’re pretty good at sharing the amazing work we do through our portfolio pages. But we thought it was high time we allowed you a peek at our inner workings to take a look at the team responsible for making the magic happen…Here we find out who everyone is and what they do at Faber, but perhaps more importantly we’ve thrown in ten quickfire questions to discover what really makes them tick!
Megan, our intern, joined the Faber team on placement from Nottingham Trent University. With us, she’s hoping to gain all the skills and knowledge needed in the industry before returning to complete her degree.
She loves working with the close-knit team here at Faber, exploring new design trends and learning about the process as projects unfold. Once she’s completed her degree, Megan wants to remain in interior design for the hospitality sector. And also hopes to spend time traveling abroad seeing all walks of life.
When she’s not working, Megan finds herself regularly visiting friends back at university or at the gym. While socializing, she’s often discovering Italian restaurants and bars—which is always good for inspiration! However, she also loves a relaxed weekend at home with her four-legged friend: ex-guide-dog, Carly.
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Bubbly, confident, and a perfectionist.
What’s your greatest achievement?
Getting this far! I’ve really had to work hard and keep going but I'm proud of where I am now.
What made you want to become an interior designer?
I used to get home after school and play Sims for hours on end until I was eventually told to go to sleep. I think that’s when I knew I wanted to design…
What's your favorite Faber project?
I’d have to say Labyrinth. It’s so different to anything I would’ve ever expected to work on, but I love it! It's really opened my eyes up to what you can achieve through carefully considered design. There are so many different details that bring the whole concept together to create something amazing.
What’s your feel-good song?
Glue by Bicep.
If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I’ve always wanted to go to the Maldives and escape life while on a small island. I could spend all day on the beach living the paradise dream…
How would you describe your perfect weekend?
A city or spa break—or both at the same time! I love finding hidden gems in unknown cities while wandering the streets.
What are you most afraid of?
Spiders—big or small, I'm not going near one!
Pet hates?
When people click their joints—it sends shivers down my spine…
What three items could you not live without?
Morning coffee, my dog, and my AirPods.
