At Faber, we’re pretty good at sharing the amazing work we do through our Portfolio and Before and After pages. But we thought it was high time we allowed you a peek at our inner workings; a closer look at the team responsible for making the magic happen; who they are, what they do – plus 10 quickfire questions to see what really makes them tick.
Anouska is one of our interior designers and has been with Faber for three years now. She first began working with us during her placement year at Nottingham Trent University, but we were so impressed, we invited her to come back and work for us full-time after she graduated.
Outside of work, Anouska loves to explore new places and spends most of her weekends travelling the country with her boyfriend in his camper van. “If you don’t find me in the campervan I’ll probably be at a festival or concert as I love listening to and watching live music,” she says.
Anouska’s long-term goals are to earn enough money to do a round-the-world trip “and do it properly,” she says. “But once I’ve had my fun, I hope maybe one day I could own my own firm.”
How would you describe yourself in three words?
Chatty, laid-back, driven.
What is your greatest achievement?
It has to be getting a first in my degree while also managing to play in the water polo team, freelance for Faber, be a course rep, and still go out most weekends. Let’s just say, I didn't get much sleep in my final year!
What made you want to become an interior designer?
As a child, I used to love watching Restoration Man by George Clarke and loved the idea of being able to reinvent a space and give it a new lease of life.
What is your favourite Faber project?
Bodega Derby. I love the colour and personality of the restaurant – plus it’s very quirky, which is right up my street!
What is your feel-good song?
Proud Mary, Tina Turner.
If you could travel to anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
Everywhere!! But if I had to choose, I'd love to visit the Galapagos islands to see the array of unique animals that live there.
How would you describe your perfect weekend?
On a beach in the campervan, campfire lit, drink in hand, music playing, watching the sunset with all my favourite people.
What are you most afraid of?
Losing the people I love most.
People chewing loudly, the noise goes right through me.
Major PDA – there is a time and a place.
What three items could you not live without?
Headphones, my phone (sad but my whole life is on there!) and my family.
